OUR wish list

On this page OUR, A&O, wish list,
we offer interested people instead of searching for handmade art to order the production of those handmade furniture items that we are interested in. Complicated to understand? - Let us explain, two conditions must be met -
Condition #1 -
we see a picture, often a photograph or an object in someone else's home, furniture in a movie or museum. We understand that we would be interested in doing "something like that", also we understand "how exactly we can do it" - the question is not about money, but about art, the master must have an interest in life and a desire to do something new.
Condition #2 -
the client sees a picture and understands that he is "interested" in it. The beauty is that in this version we can take into account the client's individual wishes. For example, the width is not 90 cm, but 91 cm? The height? Color? Decor elements?
When both conditions are met at the same time = the interests coincide.
To be or not to be? - help in choosing.
Then we need to discuss price, terms, and dimensions. Artists of yesteryear often created interesting forms, but just not user-friendly. Or pretentious. And we, using such prototypes, make real pieces of furniture, comfortable.
Instead of looking for mid-century modern furniture, one often looks for commission art in the hope of finding beautiful art deco furniture or art nouveau furniture. Sometimes we manage to find such an exemplar. But! - It's not new, and in the example of antique furniture, that can mean decrepit fabric, smells, stains, even bedbugs. The design may already be just decrepit, old, creaking - it's nice to look at pictures of such furniture, but to use? And how to find the right amount?
For example an armchair Abel Landry from the Musée d'Orsay - in those years they didn't yet know what the correct angle of the back of an armchair should be, that the upholstery of an armchair must be removed, washed and changed. Here's an example of that.
So here as a product card somewhere just pictures, if possible indicate the source.
